Dr. Kallas is an experienced professional who takes a holistic approach to psychotherapy with individuals and couples. He uses a combination of cognitive behavioral and person centered approaches to help people find positive solutions to their problems. Specialties/Expertise Dr. George Kallas is experienced in couples therapy and in helping people learn to communicate their needs and wants to each other in a healthy manner. He explores the couple's belief systems, their communication style and the influences of their families of origin on the relationship. As a certified sex therapist, Dr. Kallas works with individuals and couples to deal with sexual dysfunction or to learn ways to enhance their sexual experiences. Dr. Kallas treats anxiety, panic and phobias using a variety of techniques tailored to the individual client. An individual may have experienced a traumatic event years ago and continued to have symptoms in the aftermath or symptoms may reappear during another crisis in the persons life. Dr. Kallas can help these individuals process these experiences using cognitive therapy techniques, hypnosis, NLP, and Rapid Trauma Resolution Therapy. Experience and Education
Dr. George Kallas graduated from Carlos Albizu University with a Psy.D. degree in Clinical Psychology. He also attended a doctoral program simultaneously at Maimonides University where he earned a Ph.D. in Clincal Sexology and became a certified sex therapist.
Dr. Kallas became a Licensed Psychologist (PY7800) in September of 2008, and prior to that had been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH5170) since March of 1999. Dr. George Kallas opened his private practice in 1999. He became certified as a sex therapist in August of 2003 by AACS and fulfulled the State of Florida requirements for the practice of sex therapy at that time. He is trained in the use of Ericsonian Hypnotherapy, NLP and is a certified practitioner of Rapid Trauma Resolution developed by Dr. Jon Connely .
Dr. Kallas works full time at CCRS/South Florida State Hospital in the Psychology department providing psychotherapy to persons served and supervision to doctoral level psychology students. He heads the Trauma Informed Care Task Force at the hospital. He has worked in a variety of mental health settings since 1985.

Hours: Dr. Kallas has flexible hours, morning, afternoon and early evening appointments are available, call to check
for available times.
Fee Scale: $175.00 per psychotherapy session (50 minutes), initial consultation session $200.00 (75 minutes). Dr. Kallas has chosen not to participate as a provider for insurance companies so your full payment is expected each session. We accept cash and personal checks.
